Theodore “Teddy” Dowdle, age 22 of Cottage Grove passed away unexpectedly on May 4, 2022, doing the things he loved, spending time with the people he loved the most.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am, Wednesday, May 11, 2022 with visitation starting at 9:30 am at The Church of St. Rita, 8694 80th Street S., Cottage Grove.  Visitation will be 4-7 pm on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th Street S., Cottage Grove.  Interment will be at Newport Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations will be directed to pediatric heart care.

Teddy was born in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Craig and Emily Dowdle on March 16, 2000.  He grew up in Cottage Grove and graduated from East Ridge High School in 2018.  Teddy went on to complete his degree at Dakota County Technical College in Electrical Construction and Maintenance.  It was a career that he was really excelling in and was currently employed at Up North Plastics in Cottage Grove.

He was a loyal fan of Minnesota sports, taking the ups with the downs.  Teddy only started hunting a few years ago but loved every opportunity to take “Chester” out to fire some shots.  He had an easy-going personality with a great sense of humor.  Teddy enjoyed his dogs, going fishing, pick-up basketball games and trying his luck with pull tabs and at the casino.  He was someone who could fix just about anything, but occasionally pulled some “Dennis The Menace” moves, which kept life interesting.  Beyond anything in his life, his family was number one and he made a huge impact in their lives.

He is survived by his parents Craig and Emily; brother Carter (fiancé Courtney); sister Olivia; special cousin Zach; grandma Jane Schmidt as well as his aunts and uncles, Shane, Ken and Doug Schmidt, Jennifer (Dan) Bennett, Angela Schmidt, Abby (Tony) Parsons, Dawn Dowdle and Judie (Mike Whichello) Dowdle and numerous cousins.  He is preceded in death by his grandparents Larry and Liane Dowdle and Ted Schmidt as well as his uncle Dean Dowdle.
