Jeannette C. Elliott Obituary

To Mom

We are heartbroken to lose you

And deeply feel the loss of your physical presence here with us.

We are happy for you that you’ve gone home

And have found peace and solace at last

With your soul family that has been waiting to welcome you

With open arms.

You are able to see from your vantage now

The purpose of your life here

And know that you have succeeded in all you wished to accomplish

Even though it may have not been easy.

We cherish you

And thank you for being our conduit into the Earth plane

We honor you

And look forward to our soul gathering to celebrate being together again!

Our beloved Mother, Jeannette Cecile Elliott, passed away very peacefully May 5, 2022 at the age of 93.

Jeannette was born March 22, 1929 in Fall River, Massachusetts. After completing her education at Jesus Mary Academy, she was employed by the garment mills in Fall River as a Clothes Sample Designer. She had attended the Rhode Island School of Design. Jeannette  was a talented seamstress who made many of her own dresses and coats.

Jeannette’s first language was French and she would come home from school and teach her French Canadian parents English as she was learning.  She continued speaking and writing French to her parents and siblings all throughout her adult life.

Jeannette devoted her life to her husband and six children, leaving a position as a WAF in the United States Air Force. On May 5, 1952 she went to Panama City, Florida where she was a recruiter for the Women of the Air Force (WAF) enlistment, then she was assigned to Squadron 3743 at Lackland AFB in Texas for basic training. She requested further training and was transferred to Francis E Warren AFB in Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1952. After completing training, she was promoted to Airman Second Class as a Base Supply Technician Officer and assigned to the 15th WAF Squadron at Stewart Air Force Base, Newburg, New York in 1953. That is where she met her Husband, Technical Sergeant Amos Allen Elliott Jr. who had been at Stewart Air Force Base since 1952 after a tour of duty in Okinawa, Japan. They were married at St Anne’s Catholic Cathedral in Fall River, Massachusetts. After discharge from the Air Force, they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where they resided for the remainder of their lives. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 23, 2003.

Jeannette was a devoted Mother to Allen, Linda, Carol, Nanette, Kathryn and Laura.

Grandchildren Harley, Matthew, Karen and Suzanne called her Memere.

Jeannette was preceded in death by her husband in 2004, daughter Carol and son Allen.

Jeannette had a love for music and enjoyed playing the piano. She had lessons as a teen and learned to read music and enjoyed performing at recitals. Music was an important aspect of family life and she always had a piano in the home and continued playing throughout her life.

Jeannette loved to Country line dance. Wearing her flared skirts and purple western boots, she would attend the Senior Center classes and perform at their exhibitions.

Jeannette loved taking a LOT of photographs of her family and creating photo albums to show celebrated times.

The family welcomes all who would like to say final goodbyes to a sweet spirit, Jeannette.  Tuesday May 31, 2022
