Doris "Dot" Green Speas, 96, died on May 5, 2022, at Southfork Assisted Living Facility in Winston-Salem. She was born on January 11, 1926, to Pauline Uzzell and Henry Albert Green in Forsyth County. After she graduated from R. J. Reynolds High School in 1944, Dot was employed as a clerk for Crown Old Town Pharmacy for 25 years. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed helping her husband with crafts. Dot was a lifelong member of Mizpah Moravian Church, where she was a member of the Women's Fellowship and Choir. In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, James Russell Speas, and sisters, Linda Green and Rachel G. Petree. She is survived by her son, Richard “Dickie” L. Speas, and special friend Brenda Holloway; daughter, Patricia Speas Brown (Andrew Schlosser); and sister Emily G. Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Monday, May 9th from 6-8:00 pm at Salem Funeral Home Reynolda Chapel, 2951 Reynolda Rd., Winston-Salem, NC, 27106. The graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 10 at Mizpah Moravian Church Graveyard, 3165 Mizpah Church Rd, Rural Hall, NC 27045.
