<p>Ms. LaVerne Barron, aka &ldquo;Jean&rdquo; of Tampa, Florida passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 14, 11:00 a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Ave., Tampa, FL&nbsp;33606, with Apostle David Watkins, Officiating. MASK RECOMMENDED.</p> <p>Ms. Barron was born on October 9, 1932, in Miami, FL, to Richard Carrington and Willow Mae Clark and was a native of Miami, FL and a resident of Tampa for 63 years. She was a retiree from Hillsborough Community College and served many years with the Hillsborough County School Board. She also held various positions within the Tampa Housing Authority and was very involved within her community, as an advocate for Civil Rights. She was also the President of the West Tampa Block Club Officers. Before her passing, she took pleasure in sewing and alterations, creating floral arrangements, along with many other design projects for all.&nbsp;</p> <p>She was preceded in death by: one sister, Otha Caldwell; two brothers, Tony Carrington and Ricard Carrington Jr.; two nieces, Elaine Caldwell, and Debra Mallory; and a nephew, Donald &ldquo;Reche&quot; Caldwell Jr.</p> <p>&ldquo;Jean&rdquo; leaves to cherish precious memories: two children, Don Southhall and Sharon Jones (Johnny); step-son, Jareem Bryant; two god-children, Ossie Wright and Michelle Reaves; grandchildren, Keith Mosley (Brandy), Rechard Wiggins, Mioshia McCray (DeMond), Johnny Jones III, Cameron Southhall and Don Southhall Jr.; great grandchildren, Keyanna Jones, Andre Wiggins, Kalani Wiggins, Tyruence Creary, TyKayla Creary, DeMari McCray, Keith Southhall, Shaina Walker, Aleah Walker, Kristian Mosley, Cameri Southhall, Cameia Southhall and Camyah Southhall; cousins, Nadine Jackson, Eugene Smith, Phyllis Smith; &nbsp;nephews, Donald Caldwell (Debra), William Caldwell (Adrienne), Jerrell Cogmon (Ramona), Marlon Mallory (Addie), Brandon Caldwell, Marquis Carter, Reginald Housley, Terrance Jenkins (Lisa), Demetrius Eddie Jr., Barron Yates, Collins Denson, Dereck Mann, Demarus Thompson, Dwight Turner, Dwight Turner, Michael Austin, Dwayne Lawson, Terrance Jenkins Jr., and Jervar Noah; nieces, Tanya Yates (Ronald), Twanda Caldwell, Veronica Denson, MaShanda Johnson, Letitia Johnson, Tina Boggs, Tiffany Boggs, Shaniqua Merrell (Rontavious), Jasmine Housley, Donisha Taylor (David), Dericka Mann, Dazcha Thompson, Ty&rsquo;Jaya Ward, Nekuana Session, Adriana Mond, Brittney Pierce, Javonica Patterson, Kiara Dorsey, Diara Turner, Mihiiyah Austin, Jana Cogmon, Jayla Cogmon, and JaeLeesa Jenkins and a host of family and friends.</p> <p>The visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2022, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N.
