Abram (Abe) Dyck beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 88 years 9 month and 15 days at the MacGregor Personal Care Home on May 2, 2022.

Dad was born on July 17, 1933, at Warman Saskatchewan to his parents Franz and Elizabeth (Klassen) Dyck. 

In 1953 Abram was baptized upon the confession of his faith in Jesus Christ by Rev. Abraham Buhler in South Saskatchewan River Berthaler Church.

August 8, 1954, Abram (Dad) married the love of his life Mary (Friesen) Dyck in his parents’ house at Aberdeen, Saskatchewan.  Officiating was Rev. Abraham Buhler. 

He and his new wife soon left Saskatchewan and in 1955 Mary and Abram moved to St. Laurent, Manitoba where Dad purchased a farm. 

Although young and very ambitious farming had many challenges, so Dad secured various off the farm employment such as Barkman Concrete, Highway Dept., Nelson Rivers Construction to keep the farm going and the growing families’ needs to be met.  During the years at St. Laurent their union was blessed with seven children. He took Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.  He took this seriously for training his own children as well as others by teaching Sunday School in the St. Laurent Rhineland Church.  He also served as a caretaker there.

In 1977, Dad and Mom moved their family of seven to a farm near Austin, Manitoba.  Dad began teaching Sunday School in Austin Rhineland Church as well as serving in other capacities in the Church. 

Dad was never an idle man, and he renovated the house and built a barn that was soon filled with cows to milk and ship cream.  They had some chickens with a big garden and just loved their life together on the farm.  Dad enjoyed his workshop and made each of his children a lawn swing or lawn bench.  Dad had many talents but his love for his Lord and Savior was seen by everyone around him in how he lived his daily life especially showing his love for our Mom and all of us children. We never had to doubt whether Dad loved us.

During the 40 years God graciously granted them on this farm their family grew, got married and many grand children and great grandchildren had the opportunity to experience a Grandpa who was always excited to see them and no matter what he was doing he was never to busy to stop what he was doing and listen to them, and make a trip to Grandma’s kitchen for the freshest baked treat.

As it became evident that Dad's disease was progressing, it became too difficult for Mom and Dad to remain on the farm, and they reluctantly agreed to move to Evergreen Place in Austin on August 27,2016.

October 21, 2020 Dad was transferred to Gladstone Hospital for care while Mom was in Portage Hospital following her stroke. Dad suffered for many years with a progressive disease(Alzheimer's) and needed a higher level of care and Dad and Mom both moved to MacGregor Personal Care Home on February 3, 2021, where Dad and Mom both received the care they needed to have their needs met. After a while Dad was given his own room.

Their marriage has been such a testimony of love he could find his way to Moms room no matter how confused he was.

On April 23, 2022 Dad became sick.  He continued to get weaker until on May 2nd, 2022 God answered our prayers and relieved Dad of all his troubles or disease on earth.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Mary (Friesen) Dyck of 67 years Children Corney (Linda), Bill(Linda), Betty (John), Marg (Ed),Sus (Dave),Frank (Rhonda), John Dyck.
