Smith, Ann Noordenbos
September 8, 1939 - April 29, 2022

Ann Noordenbos Smith was born September 8, 1939 In Newark, New Jersey to Andrew and Clara Noordenbos who had emigrated from the Netherlands. She was preceded in death by her brother John Andrew and her parents. She is survived by her sister Theresa "Terry" Tannert of Austin, Texas. Other survivors include her former husband, Jack Smith, as well as Alex, Dan, Lori, Honey and numerous close and long-term friends.
Ann grew up in New Jersey and got her early nursing education there to be licensed as a Registered Nurse before moving to Colorado. At the University of Colorado, she earned a BS in 1964, Master's Degree in 1965 and PhD in 1988. Ann was one of the first Nurse Practitioners to be trained in the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program created at the University of Colorado in 1966. She went on to become Director of the Continuing Education Program at the CU School of Nursing. Ann died at home on April 29, 2022. She had a gentle, caring soul and will be missed by her many friends and students.
