Mark George Horan, 52, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at his home in Robbinsville, NJ. Born in Trenton, Mark was raised in Hamilton Township and attended Nottingham High School. He went on to attend the Police Academy and was then appointed by the Hamilton Police Division in August of 1998 and assigned to the Patrol Division. In March of 2009 Mark was assigned to the Hamilton Police Anti-Crime Unit. The following March, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and served in both the Patrol Division and the Anti-Crime Unit. In August of 2017 he was earned the rank of Lieutenant serving in the Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations Section and the Patrol Administration Bureau. Mark received numerous valor awards throughout his career. Lieutenant Mark Horan was an exemplary Police Officer throughout his career. Above all else, Mark was a dedicated and devoted husband and father. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family, whether it was simply going out to dinner, going on vacation or just watching a movie. He used his unmatched sense of humor, quick wit, and intelligence as his way to guide, support, and love his family. He never failed to make them laugh. Predeceased by his father, George J. Horan; Mark is survived by his wife, Susan D. (Gervasio) Horan; his five children, Rachel, Emma, Michael, Noah and Ryder Horan; his mother, Betty (Powers) Horan; and his sister, Stacy Milboer. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Dutch Neck, 154 S. Mill Road, West Windsor, NJ 08550. Interment will follow at the cemetery at the First Presbyterian Church of Dutch Neck in West Windsor. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton, NJ 08690. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mark’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choice or for The Benefit of the Horan Children by visiting In Memory Of at inmemof.org.
