Anibal S. Lopez

Anibal Santiago Lopez, 69, of Hartford, CT transitioned on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at his home in the presence of his family. He was born in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico, son of the late Epifania Santiago-Gomez and Juan Lopez. Anibal was educated in the Hartford Public School system and received his degree from Greater Hartford Community College. He was a United States Air Force veteran serving in the military for four years. Anibal was also a Lieutenant with the Hartford Fire Department in which he retired after 20 years of dedicated service. He was a member of True Love Holiness Church of Jesus Christ under the leadership of Pastor Barbara Ricks-Harris. Anibal was also a member of the American Legion, an avid Boston Red Sox fan, loved fishing, enjoyed reading the bible, and spending time with his family. <br><br>Anibal leaves his loving wife Patricia Ricks-Lopez, brothers, Juan Lopez (Ruthie) of Hartford, CT, Eduardo Lopez (Jaycie) of SaddleBrook, AZ, children, Anibal Lopez Jr. (Angie) of Rocky Hill, CT, Melinda Lopez of Hartford, CT, Johanna Lopez of Hartford, CT, Naia Lopez of Hartford, CT, Jose Lopez of Florida, Karilyana Lopez of Wethersfield, CT. He also leaves grandchildren, Jullissa, Briana, Milenia, Karina, Amanie, Jaden, Alaysia, Ethan, Jaelen, Leah, Angilyz, Anilyn, Amaree, and great grandchildren, Neaveh, Joseph, Kaylani, godchildren Veronica and Sasha, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends and firefighter family. Anibal also leaves a very special granddaughter, Jayliana and special friends, Anna Matos, Carmen Hernandez, Sharon Smith, Bernardo Guzman, Victor Baez, and Angel Rodriguez. Brother, Angel Lopez and sister, Maria Lopez, predeceased Anibal. <br><br>His service will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 11:30 am at Farley-Sullivan Funeral Homes, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield, CT, followed by burial at State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT. His family will receive friends on Tuesday from 9:30 am – 11:30 am at the funeral home.
