Barbara Jean Bond Obituary
Barbara Jean Bond, 89, of Des Moines, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Wesley Acres in Des Moines.
Barbara was born October 1, 1932, in Iowa City, IA, She attended the Des Moines schools and graduated from North High School in 1950. At the age of 18, she began working as a Legal Assistant for Ahlers Law and continued there until her retirement at the age of 80 years as a Paralegal.
Barbara enjoyed tending to her many roses and loved spending time with her grandchildren and sitting on her front porch
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Duane Bond, daughter Lynette Leonard Yazel and a brother Kenneth.
Barbara is survived by her son Kent Metcalf, two grandchildren, Jamie Terry and Jennifer Leonard-Olson, and great-grandchildren, Austin, Maddie, and Lillee Olson, and a brother Robert Hartsock.
A private family burial will be at the Masonic Cemetery in Des Moines.
