Murdock Byron Fillier

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend, Murdock passed away at the Thompson General Hospital on Monday, April 25th, 2022 with his loving family by his side.

Murdock loved the outdoors and would spend lots of his spare time hunting, fishing and camping.

He will be sadly missed by his daughter Bessie and Ernie Genaille and his four beautiful grandchildren who he loved dearly. His sister Patricia Brophy (Wayne), brothers Melvin (Sylvia) and Nelson (Elvie), as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Murdock was predeceased by his mother Bessie Fillier and father Gilbert Fillier.

Viewing held on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022 at Northland Funeral Home in Thompson, Manitoba from 5:00-8:00pm.

Funeral Service held on Wednesday, May 4th, 2022 at St. James Anglican Church, 10 Caribou Road in Thompson, Manitoba at 1:00pm, officiated by Father Guna, with final viewing from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Interment to follow at the Thompson Cemetery.

With sincere gratitude there are not enough words to fully express our heartfelt thanks for the sympathy, love and support you have extended to our family during this difficult time.

Legacy of Laughter

Life handed him a few hard knocks;

Sometimes his luck was bad.

He had the most unusual ups and downs

As most of us have had.

Grief had its day along his way,

Great fortune passed him by.

But he always came out a winner

With a twinkle in his eye.

This legacy of laughter,

A gift from some forbear.

Was all the weapon that he had

To fight life’s pain and care.

But he kept his sense of humor,

And he laughed away the tears.

And he went on spreading chuckles,

All around him down the years.

And I know we’ll find him waiting,

When we join him by and by.

Likely joshing with the angels,

With that twinkle in his eye. <3
