Samuel "Sammy" Paragas Cervantes, 77, of Kearny; formerly of Calasio, Pangasinan, Philippines; entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 27, 2022.  He worked as a Manager for the Shareholder Relations at the Bank of New York.  He was a parishioner, an eucharistic minister, and lecturer for many years at St. Nicholas' Church.  He volunteered at Christ Hospital aiding the sick spiritually.  He was the founder of the Holy Family Prayer Group in Jersey City and Kearny.  He enjoyed playing chess, running/exercising, and spending time with his family.  He was a very selfless family man, who would do anything for them.  He loved animals, especially his birds. 

Samuel was the beloved husband to Francese; devoted father to Samuel and his spouse, and LadyGrace Cervantes; cherished brother to Renato, Vangie, Thelma, Nelly, Rafael, and Evelyn; and is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and family and friends.  He was the beloved son to the late, Feliciano and Juana.  

Visitation is Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 Kennedy Blvd. Jersey City. (For GPS navigation, it is best to use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street).  Funeral is Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at funeral home. Funeral Mass is at 11:00 AM at St. Nicholas' Church, 122 Ferry St., Jersey City.  Entombment will follow at Holy Name Mausoleum, 823 West Side Ave. Jersey City.
