Annette Sale

<p>Mary Annette Powell Sale, 84,&nbsp;of Clermont, GA,&nbsp;(September 29,&nbsp;1937&nbsp;-&nbsp;April 27, 2022)&nbsp;was born&nbsp;to&nbsp;Raleigh Foy&nbsp;Powell and Rose Jordan Powell&nbsp;in Atlanta, GA.&nbsp;Annette graduated fromNorth Fulton High School&nbsp;and&nbsp;attended&nbsp;Hollins&nbsp;College, University of Colorado, and&nbsp;the&nbsp;University of Alabama,&nbsp;where she&nbsp;was a member of&nbsp;the Kappa Delta sorority.&nbsp;After graduation, she was employed as a social worker&nbsp;and placed&nbsp;children for adoption.&nbsp;She&nbsp;spent family&nbsp;vacations with&nbsp;extended family&nbsp;in Eufaula, AL&nbsp;and Panama City, FL, where she met&nbsp;Thomas&nbsp;Sale, Jr.&nbsp;and raised&nbsp;their&nbsp;five children.&nbsp;While in Panama&nbsp;City, she&nbsp;worked&nbsp;tirelessly&nbsp;as a patient advocate&nbsp;at the United Cerebral Palsy&nbsp;Center&nbsp;and as a recruiter at Snelling Staffing Services. Annette&nbsp;returned to Atlanta,&nbsp;where she worked with the family-owned Powell Cleaners and then with Families First, Georgia&rsquo;s largest family &amp; children&rsquo;s services organization. She&nbsp;remaineddevoted to her parents&nbsp;through their final years,&nbsp;and eventuallyretired&nbsp;in&nbsp;the North Georgia Mountains.</p> <p>People were drawn to&nbsp;Annette&rsquo;s&nbsp;selfless,&nbsp;unconditional love.&nbsp;She&nbsp;never met a stranger and&nbsp;was&nbsp;well&nbsp;known for&nbsp;genuinelycaring about&nbsp;others&nbsp;and&nbsp;doing what she could to&nbsp;help&nbsp;people&nbsp;in need.&nbsp;She loved life, babies, flowers, music and dancing, and Southern cooking and hospitality.&nbsp;Her welcoming smile lit up&nbsp;the&nbsp;room&nbsp;and her words were&nbsp;positive,&nbsp;uplifting, encouraging and kind.&nbsp;She&nbsp;embodied the directive&nbsp;&ldquo;Let your light so shine&hellip;.&rdquo;&nbsp;(Matthew&nbsp;5:16&nbsp;KJV).&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</p> <p>Annette&nbsp;was&nbsp;preceded in death by her brothers, Raleigh&nbsp;Foy&nbsp;Powell, Jr. and Robert Angus Powell, and her precious son, Thomas&nbsp;Davis&nbsp;Sale, III.&nbsp;She&nbsp;is survived by&nbsp;her&nbsp;children RebeccaSale&nbsp;Henderson&nbsp;of Cumming, GA, Rosemary&nbsp;Sale&nbsp;Holcomb&nbsp;and husband Scott of Marietta, GA, Robert&nbsp;Sale&nbsp;and wife Ann Marie of Panama City, FL,&nbsp;and Raleigh Sale&nbsp;of Panama City, FL; her grandchildren&nbsp;Claire Quartemont&nbsp;and husband David, Kelly Holcomb,&nbsp;Corinne Henderson,&nbsp;Kathryn Holcomb,&nbsp;Kimberly Holcomb, Thomas Holcomb, McKenzie Sale, Robert Sale, Jr., Thomas Sale, IV, Reagan Sale, Frasier Sale, and Vivian Sale; hergreat-grandchild&nbsp;Luca Quartemont; Marie Steinsberger of Clermont, GA, and&nbsp;other close&nbsp;friends&nbsp;who&nbsp;were&nbsp;like family.</p> <p>A&nbsp;graveside&nbsp;service&nbsp;was held&nbsp;at&nbsp;the Powell family&nbsp;plot&nbsp;in&nbsp;theWestview Cemetery&nbsp;of&nbsp;Atlanta, GA&nbsp;on Monday,&nbsp;May 2nd&nbsp;at 1pm.&nbsp;There will be a&nbsp;Celebration of Life&nbsp;gathering&nbsp;at the Powell Family Farm on Sunday,&nbsp;May 15th&nbsp;at&nbsp;12 pm&nbsp;(GPS address: 10925 County Road 97, in Abbeville, AL 36310).&nbsp;Family and friends are&nbsp;invited.</p> <p>Donations may be made in&nbsp;her&nbsp;honor to the&nbsp;Holy Nativity Episcopal School, 205 Hamilton Avenue, Panama City, FL 32401,&nbsp;or&nbsp;United Cerebral Palsy of Georgia, 3300 Northeast Expressway, Building 9, Atlanta, GA 30341.</p>
