Karon Joy Jamison, of Bloomington, Indiana, passed away on April 27, 2022, of natural causes. She was born 78 years ago in Milbank, South Dakota, and raised in Sioux Falls. She graduated from Washington High School in 1961, where she loved singing in the school chorus.

Karon was preceded in death by her parents, David, and Violet Carlson also of Sioux Falls, and Leslie (Ikey) Elliott of Ellettsville, a longtime companion.

She is survived by a sister, Cheri Carlson of Sioux Falls; one son, Michael, and daughter-in-law Suzanne Jamison; a daughter, Sara Jamison; and two grandchildren Johanna and Alexa Wagner, all living in Georgia.

Karon began work at Indiana University in the early ‘70’s, where she worked for over 35 years. She remained in the Financial Aid Department for her entire career and made many lifelong friends. She enjoyed attending services at Lifeway Baptist Church in Ellettsville for many years and spending time with her children and grandchildren in Georgia where she anticipated moving next month.

She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 4, at Lifeway Baptist Church in Ellettsville with the funeral to follow at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Clear Creek Cemetery in Bloomington.  Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville is assisting with arrangements.
