Jon Marshall Davenport Evansville, Indiana Obituary

Jon Marshall Davenport

Jon Marshall Davenport, 70, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at North Park Nursing Center. Jon was born in Linton, Indiana on September 5, 1951, to the late Jack Edward Davenport and Mary Jane (Callahan.) He had two sisters, Marta Jane and Christy Blair Davenport, and two children, Mary Ellen Elizabeth and James Marshall Davenport. Jon lived most of his young life in Bloomington and graduated from Bloomington High School. He worked at McDonnell Douglas Corporation in Tulsa, Oklahoma as an aerospace inspector. In Evansville, he had worked for AARP and Patchwork Central. He liked racing and appreciated so much Lisa and Danny Pittman taking him on his "last wish" trip to the stock car races in Haubstadt. He was an avid coin collector. He had a passion for history and an excellent memory. Above all, Jon was a kind-hearted, caring, and loving human being. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure to call him friend. He leaves to mourn his passing hundreds of friends in the fellowship of Bill W., in whom his service and support will live on. Services will be held at Wesselman's Park South Shelter (in the back) at 5:00 p.m. on May 1st. Friends may call from 3:00-5:00 and we will have a potluck after the service. We would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Kindred Hospice, especially Randy, Lisa, Megan, Barb, Rana, Darcy, and Haley. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Old Stone, 770 E. Walnut St., Evansville, IN 47713. Condolences may be made online at www.browningfuneral.com.
