<p>Robert G. "Bob" Strautman (Pap), 84, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022, in Milan, Indiana.</p> <p>He was born November 27, 1937, in Dayton, KY, son of the late Wilford Strautman and Elizabeth (Marsh) Strautman. Bob was married in 1958 to Chrissy Hilker at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Aurora, Indiana.</p> <p>Bob worked as an Operator for Monsanto, retiring after over 30 years of service.<br /> <br /> Bob was a coach for St. Mary's 5/6 and 7/8 grade boys basketball, and was the Athletic Director for St. Mary's School from 1972-2018. He refereed basketball, football and umpired baseball for Indiana High Schools. Bob was also an Aurora Little League Baseball Coach, Aurora Summer Swim Team President, and President of SDHS Basketball Boosters. Most notably, he was a scorekeeper for SDHS boys and girls basketball teams and the girls softball team. The last game he kept the book was for SDHS boys basketball vs. South Ripley on February 11, 2022. Bob enjoyed teaching, coaching, and encouraging players. He touched many lives in a positive way throughout his coaching, refereeing, time spent helping out at St. Mary's and many other activities. He was an avid sports fan and he especially enjoyed the Reds and Bengal's. Bob also loved to play card games and spend time with his family. He was a great husband, dad, and grandpa. He will be missed by all who knew him. </p> <p>Bob is survived by his children, Jon (Julie Strasemeier) Strautman, Brian (Terry) Strautman, Laurie (Sil) Mumfrey, Chris (Debra) Strautman; grandchildren, Matthew (Laura) Strautman, Andrew (Taylor Kopf) Strautman, Nicholas (Jess) Strautman, Kyle Strautman, Erica Baldrick, Drew Strasemeier, Jason (Julia) Strasemeier, Katie (Brett Niehauser) Strasemeier; great-grandchildren, Michael, Grayson, Colin, Thomas and Heidi Strasemeier; cousin, Elmer (Ronda) Strautman; sister-in-law, Betty Hilker Tyler. </p> <p>He was preceded in death by loving bride, of 51 years, Chrissy (Hilker) Strautman; parents, Wilford and Elizabeth; brother-in-law, Bill Tyler; sister-in-laws, Audrey (Ben) Withered, Reggy (Ron) Boerst, and Marilyn (Harry) Faber. </p> <p>Friends will be received Friday, May 6, 2022, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, 203 Fourth Street, Aurora, Indiana. </p> <p>Services will be held at the church at 12:00 pm with Father Daniel Mahan officiating.</p> <p>Interment will follow in the Mt. Sinai Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana. </p> <p>Contributions may be made to the South Dearborn High School Athletic Department.
