James Lullie

<p>James J. Lullie, Jr., age 99, of East Dundee passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Symphony-Maplecrest Care Center in Belvidere. Jim was born in Elgin on December 19,1922, and was the son of the late James &amp; Rose (nee Moscato) Lullie. He was a life-long resident of the Dundee-Elgin area and a 1941 graduate of Elgin High School. Jim was a W.W. II Navy veteran having served with the Seabees. While in the Seabees, he served aboard the USS Rendova and the USS Antietam in the Mariana Islands. He also participated in the Honor Flight in 2010. For 35 years, Jim was employed by Northern Illinois Gas Co. until his retirement. He was a long-time active member of the St. Catherine of Siena Church in West Dundee. Jim was also a Life-Time member of the Elgin Loyal Order Of The Moose (LOOM 799). On October 25, 1947, he married Lucy V. Pace. Lucy preceded Jim in death on November 30, 2001, after celebrating 54 years of marriage. Jim is survived by his children: Catherine (Philip) Schmitt, Elizabeth (Douglas) McMillan, Joseph Lullie, Antoinette (Robert) Wilson, Marie (Michael) Bertram, Christine Lullie, and Victoria (Allen) Wall. Other survivors include his 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents and beloved wife Lucy, Jim was preceded in death by his brothers: Anthony, Michael, and Frank, and his sisters: Theresa Lullie and Lillian Averino.</p><p>Family and Friends will gather for a Funeral Mass on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. in the St. Catherine of Siena Church West Dundee. Burial with military honors will follow in the Holy Sepulchre Section at River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee from 4:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. and again on Thursday morning at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass. Please omit flowers. Memorials may be made to either the Honor Flight, St. Catherine of Siena Church/School, or the charity of one’s choice. I want to express my sympathy to the whole Lullie family. He and my mom Charlotte {midge} Meyer and Betty Lochner were great freinds for many years, starting with elementary school. I am sure he is deeply missed.
