Ms. Edna Carter Jones passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. Visitation will be conducted on Tuesday, May 03, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, Fl 33606.

Edna was born June23, 1947 in Quincy, FL to Ralph A. Carter and Jessie M. Carter. She was educated in Hillsborough County at the following Institutions: Dunbar Elementary and H. W. Blake High School. She continued her education at the University of Tampa receiving a B.S. degree in Business Administration and Economics and MBA degree.

Edna was converted at the age of ten at St. Luke AME Church under pastorate of Rev. W. H. Pickett. She was a member of choir 2 and served as Trustee and Financial Secretary. In 1999, she united with Without Walls Inter Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph, and Jessie Carter; grandparents, Robert and Sarah Carter and Virgil Lockwood, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memory son, Leighton Carter; brother, Ralph E. Carter; aunt, Archie Mae Carter of Quincy, FL; two nephews, Mark W. Carter (Ursula) of Chattanooga, TN and Michael W. Carter of Lithonia, GA; grand nephews, Dylan P. And Griffin P. Carter of Chattanooga, TN; grandniece, Olivia P. Carter of Chattanooga, TN; devoted friends, Jimmy, and Sharon Jones of Dacula, GA; Delia Miller of Seattle, WA; Annie Mae Blake of Thonotosassa, FL and Charlene Sanders of St. Petersburg, FL; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
