Patrick J. Byrne

Patrick Joseph Byrne, 78, of Nanuet NY passed away peacefully on April 27, 2022 Pat was born on February 22, 1944 in New York, NY to Cornelius and Ann Marie Byrne (Barry). After graduating from Bishop Loughlin High School in 1962 he went on to study and earn a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing at St John’s University. He followed his father into the Horse Carriage business and continued in that business for the rest of his life. He met the love of his life Jennifer (Ginger Byrne) while at St John’s and they were married in 1971. They shared a loving marriage until her passing in 2005. Patrick is predeceased by his parents Cornelius and Ann and his wife Ginger. He is survived by his loving brother and lifetime friend Cornelius Patrick Byrne and his wife Patricia Quilty Byrne. His nieces Kelly Quilty Byrne (Michael Sweeney) and Shannon Patricia Byrne (Gary Shannon) Pat’s first job was as a caddie at the Rockaway Hunt Club which established his lifetime love of the game. He was a Knight of Columbus for many years and a member of the Nanuet Elks Club where he shared time with many friends. Services will be held at the Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home in West Nyack NY on Monday May 2, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral will be at St Anthony Parish, West Nyack Road, Nanuet NY at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 3rd. Final resting place is at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne NY.
