<p><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Caroline Ann Schimke, age 80, of Centerville, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Centerville Specialty Care.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Caroline was born on December 4, 1941 in Ashland, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Lena (Vaillancour) Klaus.&nbsp; She graduated from Ashland High School, and furthered her education with some college classes.&nbsp; On June 22, 1962, Caroline was united in marriage to Joe DeMars.&nbsp; To this union, three children were born, Marie, Mary and Joe.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Caroline first began working at Wells Manufacturing in Milwaukee.&nbsp; She moved to Centerville on April 16, 1986 from Milwaukee.&nbsp; She accepted a position as production control manager at Wells Manufacturing in Centerville.&nbsp; Caroline retired in 2004 after thirty years at Wells Manufacturing.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>In February of 2000, Joe passed away.&nbsp; On December 30, 2006, Caroline was united in marriage to Gurmen Schimke.&nbsp; He passed away in January of 2010.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>In her free time, Caroline enjoyed knitting, gardening, sewing, and quilting.&nbsp; She was a member of St. Mary&rsquo;s Catholic Church in Centerville for many years.&nbsp; Most importantly, Caroline was devoted to her family and her faith.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Left to cherish Caroline&rsquo;s memory are her children, Marie (Barry) McLinn of Freeport, Illinois, Mary (Wayne) DeVore of Centerville, Iowa, and Joe (Christine) DeMars of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin; her sister, Johanna (Richard) Mihalek of Washburn, Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Brett DeVore, Noelle (Austin) Hoffman, Christian (Gracie) DeVore, Dylon Ashbaugh, Austin DeMars, and Lucas DeMars; six great grandchildren, Hayden DeVore, Klaus Hoffman, Kael Hoffman, Wrenley Hoffman, Gabriella DeVore, and Harlow DeVore; as well as several extended family members.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Caroline was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lena Klaus; her husbands, Joe DeMars and Gurmen Schimke; and 8 siblings, Fred Klaus, Everald Klaus, Rosemary Cody, Marie Klaus, Lorraine Lundquist, Betty Rokser, Catherine Pocernich, and Ardetta Sufak.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Per Caroline&rsquo;s wishes, cremation has been accorded.&nbsp; A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30AM, Saturday, June 4, 2022 at St. Mary&rsquo;s Catholic Church in Centerville with Fr. Timothy Armbruster officiating.&nbsp; Inurnment will be held on August 20th at 11am at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Washburn, WI.&nbsp; Memorials may be written to Mary DeVore, to be designated for monument expenses, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, ATTN: Schimke family, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.&nbsp; Condolences may be shared online at www.langefh.com or on our funeral home Facebook page.</strong></span></p>

Caroline Ann Schimke, age 80, of Centerville, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Centerville Specialty Care.

Caroline was born on December 4, 1941 in Ashland, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Lena (Vaillancour) Klaus.  She graduated from Ashland High School, and furthered her education with some college classes.  On June 22, 1962, Caroline was united in marriage to Joe DeMars.  To this union, three children were born, Marie, Mary and Joe.

Caroline first began working at Wells Manufacturing in Milwaukee.  She moved to Centerville on April 16, 1986 from Milwaukee.  She accepted a position as production control manager at Wells Manufacturing in Centerville.  Caroline retired in 2004 after thirty years at Wells Manufacturing.

In February of 2000, Joe passed away.  On December 30, 2006, Caroline was united in marriage to Gurmen Schimke.  He passed away in January of 2010.
