Roque Ramirez Casas, 83, of Amarillo, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Saturday, April 30, 2022 at St. Mary’s Cathedral, 1200 S. Washington St. with Fr. Anthony Neusch officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Rosary service will be held at 6:30 PM Friday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Roque was born July 29, 1938 in Durango, Mexico to Federico Ramirez, Sr. and Aurora Ramirez. He grew up in Mexico, moving to the U.S. in the mid 1960’s. He married Romana Flores in 1971 in El Paso, Texas. Roque worked as a ranch hand in Picacho, NM, and then worked as a farm hand in Dimmitt, Texas. Roque and Romana lived in Dimmitt for 32 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed working outside and watching baseball. He loved spending time with his family, especially his kids and grandkids.

Roque was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Federico Ramirez, Jr. and Tacho Ramirez; and two sisters, Chole Acosta and Leonor Alcala.

Survivors include his wife, Romana Ramirez; two sons, Danny Ramirez (Veronica) and Ricardo Ramirez (Cindy Ybarra) all of Amarillo; two daughters, Patricia Ramirez of Amarillo, and Susie Quiroz (Adam) of Canyon; a brother, Melo Ramirez; three sisters, Irma Sandoval, Esperanza Hernandez and Maria Hernandez; 11 grandchildren, Sergio Ramirez, Daniel Ramirez, Ismael Ramirez, Lissette Ramirez, Arianna Ramirez, Cristian Quiroz, Judy Martinez, Jacob Quiroz, Kriselle Ramirez, Gregory Ramirez and Gabriel Miranda; and two great-granddaughters, Everlee and Sofia.
