Samuel L. Auliff Obituary

Samuel L. Auliff, 59, of LeClaire, Iowa, passed away suddenly in his big chair at his life-long farmhouse on Wednesday, April 27, 2022.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 2, 2022 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home and one hour before the services on Monday.  Per Sam’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family or to Camp Courageous.

Sam was born on February 6, 1963 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Alvin and Iva (Wendhausen) Auliff.  He was a graduate of North Scott High School.

He had farmed all of his life and had recently worked for Bob Holst Trucking.  He had also worked for Flenker Brothers.

Sam had been the lead singer for the Lovedogs and enjoyed entertaining crowds for over thirty years.  Sam was thankful for his opportunities; to have lived his life on the family farm and for his friends and family. He will be remembered as very generous with a big heart and was proud of his children and adored them.

Those left to honor his memory are his twin son and daughter, James and Grace Auliff of LeClaire; his dear friend, Heidi Otte; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and many loyal fans

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Sam’s family would like to thank the Iowa Donor Network, for as his wish as an organ donor, over 150 people will benefit from his gift.
