Shirley M. Rose

Shirley M. Rose, of the Town of Newburgh, entered into rest on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. She was 86. Daughter of the late William B. and Hilda M. (Springstead) Wayman, she was born on May 22, 1935 in Newburgh, NY. Shirley was a retired school bus Driver with George M. Carroll, Inc., Newburgh, NY. A lifelong Newburgh resident, she was a former member of the Church of the Good Shepherd. She was also a member of the former Town of Newburgh Moose Lodge Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, ceramics and painting. Survivors include two daughters, Darlene S. (Todd) Diehl of Wallkill and Sharon (Clarence) Alpaugh of the Town of Newburgh; three grandchildren, Marcia Strang, Howard Snyder, II, and Samantha Mitzner; five great grandchildren, Danaya, Iceist, Isabelle, Jerry and Hermione; two great great grandchildren, Brylah and Alilyanna; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Kenneth B. Rose in 2012. Visitation for family and friends will be Monday, May 2, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at White, Venuto and Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, 188 N. Plank Road, Newburgh, NY. A Funeral Service will be held, 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at the Funeral Home, with The Reverend Steven Schunk officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor, NY.
