David Paul McClure
<p>David Paul McClure, 72, went to his Heavenly home on April 27, 2022 after a three month battle with complications of his lifetime heart problems.</p> <p>He was born on September 6, 1949 to Fred G. and Helen (Whitsel) McClure at his home in Shore Valley, Three Springs, PA. He was the fourth of eight children.</p> <p>David graduated in 1968 from the Southern Huntingdon County High School. He married his high school sweetheart Sherry Paula Hoffman on August 28, 1971. They have one daughter, Tammy Wiser and husband Dane of Blairs Mills, PA and one granddaughter, Ashley Sample of Chicago, IL.</p> <p>Surviving siblings are Earl McClure, Linda Saylor, Glen McClure and Brenda McClure. Siblings Hazel Esther McClure, Fred McClure, Jr., and Joseph McClure preceded him in death. </p> <p>Also dear to David were his late in-laws, Charles and Althea Hoffman and his “like-a-son” Dave Staley.</p> <p>During high school, David worked for the Kough farm, milking cows and making hay. After graduation, he went to work climbing electrical towers for CW Wright for a year, then, as a mechanic for Lynn Chevrolet for two years and Richards Auto Sales for ten years. He owned and operated McClure’s Garage for thirty years until he was disabled by on-going heart problems.</p> <p>He and his wife farmed the family farm where they resided on Cherry Grove Church Road, Three Springs, PA. He attended the Cherry Grove Church of God, Three Springs, PA. He was a life member of the Three Springs Volunteer Fire Company. He had also been a member of the Saltillo and Three Springs Lions Clubs and the Three Springs Area Historical Society.</p> <p>He loved old cars, building a ‘57 Chevy convertible and taking care of his wife’s Camaro. He also enjoyed salmon fishing and hunting.</p> <p>Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Cherry Grove Church of God, 7590 Cherry Grove Church Road, Three Springs, PA with Pastor Alann Schmidt officiating. Interment will be at Cherry Grove Cemetery, Three Springs, PA. Friends may call at the church from noon until the time of the service on Saturday.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Three Springs Volunteer Fire Company - Building Fund, 8418 Ashman Street, Three Springs, PA 17264.</p>September 6, 1949 - April 27, 202209/06/194904/27/2022
