Arlene Boer

Elma Arlene Boer, 86, of Ottumwa, died at 4:13 p.m. April 25, 2022 at Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa. She was born October 12, 1935 in Wapello County to Donald Edmund and Edyth Viola Ruggles Daly. Arlene married Paul Henry Boer on March 17, 1952 and he preceded her in death on May 13, 2005. A resident of Ottumwa most of her life, Arlene had worked at Standard Kollsman and Universal Rundle both in Ottumwa and at Gates Rubber Co. in Denver, CO. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Surviving are her children, Sandra Bruce of Creston, Tammy Stocker of Ottumwa, Tom Boer of Lebanon, IL, Bob Boer of Marion and Rick Boer of Bloomfield; 23 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Fred (Lawona) Daly and Jack (Sharon) Daly both of Ottumwa. She was preceded in death by a son, Don Boer; a great-great-granddaughter, Jaycelynn Boer; 2 brothers, Larry Daly and Jim Daly and a sister, Eilene Daly. Visitation will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, April 29th at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 30th at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Reeves officiating. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed live on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be in Columbia Cemetery near Chillicothe. Memorials may be made to Hospice Serving Davis and Wapello Counties.
