<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; William &ldquo;Bill&rdquo; A. Talbot, 71, of Davenport passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; A graveside service will be held on Saturday at Glendale Cemetery, LeClaire.&nbsp; Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.&nbsp; A visitation will be held from 4:00 &ndash; 5:00 p.m. on Saturday evening at Adventure Christian Community, Davenport with a memorial service beginning at 5:00 p.m.&nbsp; A time of fellowship will follow at the church until 8:00 p.m.&nbsp; Memorials may be directed to the family.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Bill was born on March 1, 1951 in Rock Island, Illinois to George &ldquo;Butch&rdquo; and Helen (Boyer) Talbot.&nbsp; He attended Pleasant Valley High School and later joined Job Corps.&nbsp; After completing his training, he moved to Louisiana where he worked on the barges.&nbsp; Upon returning to the Quad Cities, Bill worked at Brach&rsquo;s Candy where he earned the title of &ldquo;The Best Candymaker.&rdquo;&nbsp; Bill later achieved his radio broadcasting degree from AIC and DJ&rsquo;d for many years.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Bill was in recovery for over 32 years and was a friend of Bill W&rsquo;s.&nbsp; He strived to help those around him who were also suffering from addiction and was a founder of William&rsquo;s Hall, an AA group to help those in recovery.&nbsp; Bill loved his family and was especially proud of his grandchildren.&nbsp; He had a special bond with his granddaughter, Callista.&nbsp; He loved going to support his grandson Monty&rsquo;s football endeavors, and was most recently planning on attending Monty&rsquo;s &ldquo;Player of the Year&rdquo; awards ceremony.&nbsp; Bill was a sports fan, most importantly an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Minnesota Vikings, and Chicago Cubs.&nbsp; He had a love and extensive knowledge of classic rock n&rsquo; roll, and music in general.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Ona of Davenport; children, Crystal Talbot of Moline, Cathie (Matt) Lienen of Davenport, Jeff (Gina Owens-Smith) Talbot of Davenport, Tiffany (fianc&eacute;, DJamilou) Talbot of Moline, Lindsay Frey of Davenport, Travis Talbot of Davenport, Troy Talbot of Davenport; 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Florence Talbot of Davenport, Jane Talbot of Davenport, Rosemary Mess of Princeton, Iowa; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Tom Talbot, Bonnie Jackson, and Janet Smith; infant grandson, Xavier Frey; and close friend, Roger Tague.</p>

            William “Bill” A. Talbot, 71, of Davenport passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022.
