Brian Dudley Marks was born on 6/1/1960, the fifth child of the late Marguerite & Joseph Marks’ seven children. Brian was a dedicated son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He passed peacefully at his home in Buzzards Bay on April 20, 2022, after a short battle with cancer. His quiet nature and loyalty to the family were at the heart of his existence.

Brian’s commitment to his family could always be counted on. He was a selfless person who was always there for anyone who needed help. He was always the first one to jump into action when action was needed. Brian assisted with keeping the doors open to his brother Joe’s restaurant while he was hospitalized, sacrificing his own time to lend support to Michael and his son's during Mike’s time of illness, helping Paul open or close his pool, but most of all, being there to assist in the care and comfort to our mother during her final years.  He could fix anything something he learn from are Father, whether it be as easy as hanging a picture correctly or electrical problems, Brian was your man. But he had to do it alone, he was stubborn like that.  Brian loved spending time with family. He proved this while spending a year with Kathy traveling around the South together to set up store end displays in Florida.  But his greatest joy came from the times he spent with his many nieces and nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.  They called him the Fun Uncle. 

Friends have shared so many funny, caring stories about Brain, and they all added, boy could he dance. He loved dancing and was always the first one on the dance floor. Bruce Springsteen was his favorite artist with Tom Petty running a close second.  Brian was also very funny; Maureen thinks he got his sense of humor from MAD Magazine and Jerry Lewis movies he loved so much as a kid.  We agree.

Brian had so many talents and interest that it is hard to list them all.  He loved boating and was an excellent water skier, he loved food and was a wonderful cook. Growing up he would wake Margie & Paul to watch the sunrise over the lake in Halifax.  Later in life he would join Margie and her family on her boat to watch sunset over that same lake. Then howl at the moon!

Brian lived life on his own terms. And passed on his own terms. Our family will be changed forever without him, but our memories of him will last forever.
