RIPEPI AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, 18149 BAGLEY ROAD, MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, OH (West of I-71).

In Loving Memory of Rafeline Ann Masar

Losing a mother is one of the most difficult things to go through. We are sad because we are deprived of her presence. On the flip side it's wonderful and glorious because her long struggle is over. Now she is in the presence of God who has been waiting for her to fulfill her destiny and come home. My mother lived a life filled with varied experiences, love and most of all, family. Now she's living a new life, reunited with all of those she loved so deeply and knowing one day she will be reunited with us, after we have fulfilled our destinies. My mother had patience of a saint. She was kind, generous, a great listener, and loving unconditionally. Although small in stature, she was a strong woman. During her life she dealt with some epic struggles. She faced many challenges and came through each one with her head up. She truly had strength and dignity that should be an example to all of us.

Her children were always her priority. She had two children of her own and through marriage, gained two more that she treated as her own. She taught us how to cook , clean, and above all to be respectful. Although she could have, she never voiced an ill word about my father and told me that her mother said, " Silence is Golden". Saying nothing is more powerful than speaking bad about someone. Maybe most significant of all she taught me to be a survivor and instilled in me the feeling that I could overcome anything in life. Little did I know at the time how much I would need those skills. Thanks Mom! Mom felt blessed by the fact she had four children who gave her eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren- they were the love of her life.

My mother loved traveling to Connellsville, Pennsylvania to visit her sisters. They would cook for days and sit around the table and never run out of stories and things to talk about. She also loved traveling to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware to visit her brother. Those were all precious times to her. She was the queen of shopping. So many outfits and everything had to match. You never caught her without being 100% put together...head to toe. Her greatest passion was baking, cooking and feeding everyone. Every Christmas holiday she would bake biscotti, wedding cookies, pizzelles, raisin cake, raisin cookies, etc... for our relatives and bring boxes to my office for me to UPS them. Everyone wanted her cookies and then argues about who she sent the most to. Her pizza was amazing, and her spaghetti sauce was so delicious that I told her I could drink it. My friends would come to her house on Thursdays for spaghetti dinner and we would bring the wine. I will cherish those moments that brought happiness to her. Many of my friends adopted my mother as their own.

My mom's faith was very important to her as it was to her mother. The Catholic religion was embedded in her soul from the time she was a little girl. She prayed each and every day and especially for those she cared about most. She prayed the Divine Mercy every day, never missed mass when she was healthy, and especially loved going to Midnight Mass for Christmas. My mother gave so much of herself to others. She gave everything to her children- even when it meant she had to go without. No matter what the challenge or sacrifice she never bent, never caved, and never showed she was scared or hurt. My mother was truly my hero. I loved my mother with my whole heart and will miss her terribly. She was my whole world.
