Dewaine Fisher Obituary

Dewaine Glen Fisher, the son of Glen and Helen (Wilhour) Fisher, was born August 13, 1946, in Estherville, Iowa. He passed away Friday, April 22, 2022, at Aspire Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Estherville at the age of 75.

He received his education in the Estherville schools. He was graduate of Estherville High School and Minnesota West Technical College Auto Body Program.

In his younger adult life he worked for Firestone changing tractor tires and later for John Morrell Co. Throughout his life, Dewaine lived in Alliance, Nebraska, Sheboygan, Wisconsin, St. Cloud and Plymouth, Minnesota. After returning to Estherville to care for his mother, Helen, he was employed with Stylecraft in Milford, Iowa, for 17 years, retiring in 2008. Dewaine cherished his family the most. His brothers and sisters were his best friends. He enjoyed playing cards, family gatherings, walking in Fort Defiance, playing basketball in the backyard, golfing, fishing, bowling and watching the Minnesota Vikings and Iowa Hawkeyes with his brothers. He loved listening to music, especially the Oldies. He could name an artist to almost any song. Dewaine had a heart of gold and was always willing to help out family or friend.

Left to cherish Dewaine's memory are his siblings, Don (Barb) Fisher of Estherville; Nancy Lappegard of Sheboygan, Wisconsin; Jim Fisher of Estherville; Dennis (Diane) Fisher of Milford; Jane Lund of Pillager, Minnesota and numerous nieces and nephews

Dewaine was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Katherine Fisher, Mary Henderson, Carol Skalsky, Geraldine Brandt, Doreen Kloehn and half sister, Donna Thorsland.
