It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Ivan Peter Hynes of Jacques Fontaine announces his passing. Ivan passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin on Thursday, April 21st, 2022, at the age of 66.

Ivan was predeceased by parents, Peter & Annie Hynes; brother, Gerard, infant brother, Peter; brother in-law, Harold.

Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his sisters, Cecilia Banfield (Ron LeCoure) , Betty Noble (Barry), Pearl Gagnon (Andre) ; brother, Frank Hynes (Essie), sister in-law, Zita Hynes; a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ivan loved music, spending Sundays playing records from his vast collection of oldies and was also well known for his immense love of hockey, specifically his beloved Montreal Canadiens.

The family would like to thank his caregivers and the staff at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre and U.S. Memorial Health Care Centre for their kindness and compassion.

The Hynes Family will be accepting visitors at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, St. Bernard's- Jacques Fontaine on Saturday and Sunday, April 23rd & 24th, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm., 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral service will take place at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church on Monday, April 25th, 2022 at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Bernard's- Jacques Fontaine. Due to currant high COVID case counts it is recommended that Ivan's family and friends wear masks during visitation.

In Ivan's memory donations may be made to Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery Fund or St. Bernard's-Jacques Fontaine Recreation Committee,
