Beulah Nadine (Neff) Mead (79) of LaPlata, NM passed away in her sleep, at her home, in the early morning hours on Friday, the 22nd of April 2022.  She was born on March 5, 1943, to her father, Thomas “Tommy” Whitcomb Neff, and her mother, Ethel Louise Cardon.  After losing her father tragically in a tractor accident on March 21, 1946, she was raised (along with her sisters & brother) by her mother and stepfather, Eugene Hearst Cardon, in Farmington, NM. She was married to the love of her life, her hero, Artie “Allen” Mead for 45 years. Together, they raised 5 children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy, Ethel, and Eugene; her brother, Jerry Cardon; her grandparents, A.J and Alice Neff and Wilford and Ida Wheeler.  She is survived by her husband, Allen; son, Michael Lawlor Mead (Michele); daughter, Coral Louise Hall (Calvin); daughter, Vonda Gayle Easley, (Jay); daughter, Marlis “DeDe” Walker (Kevin); daughter, Tanya Sian “Toni” Larby (honorary son-in-law, Shane); and stepdaughter, Shannon Marie Friddle (Dale); 22 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren; her sister, Nedra (Jed) Shumway; and sister, Patricia (Glenn) Mead.

Visitation will be held on April 29, 2022 at 1:00 PM with Services immediately following (2:00 PM) at Brewer, Lee, and Larkin Funeral Home: 103 E. Ute St. Farmington, NM. Private graveside services for immediate family only. Pallbearers are Tristan Mead, Tommy Walker, Derrick Walker, Xander Walker, Logan Larby, and Josh Larby. Honorary Pallbearers are Shane Green, Miles Mead, Michael J. Mead, Shawn Mead, and Tyler Ferguson.

Family and friends are welcome at the dinner: 5:00 PM, LaPlata Water Users 1438 Highway 170, LaPlata, NM.

In lieu of flowers, donations to her favorite charities, St. Jude’s and Shriners Children’s Hospitals, would be appreciated.
