Margaret A. (Cournoyer) Carpenter, 79, of Somerset passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022.  She was the wife of the late Gerald T. "Jerry" Carpenter, Sr.

Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Normand Joseph Cournoyer, Sr. and Margaret Ann (Hague) Cournoyer, she resided in Somerset for the past 51 years.

Margaret was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee Class of 1960.  She started her career in the telecommunications industry at New England Telephone, advancing to being a programmer and technician by her retirement.

She is survived by  a son, Gerald T. Carpenter, Jr. a daughter Susanne  Moran; four grandchildren, Brian Tretter  and Timothy J. Tretter, Matthew Carpenter and Amanda Moran; three great grandchildren, Sean, Isaiah and Isabella; a sister, Nancy O’Brien (husband John) and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Normand Joseph Cournoyer, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation to be held Saturday, April 30, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St.Fall River.    There will be a funeral service during the visitation at 3:00 PM
