Doreen M. Nehmelman, 89, of Delavan, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022 at her home. 

She was born January 10, 1933 in Delavan to Frank and Marie Holmes.  She was raised by Everett and Marie Skeen.  She married Lawrence D. Nehmelman on November 11, 1950 in Delavan, and he passed away August 10, 2021. 

Surviving are one son, Terry (Jina) Nehmelman of Delavan; one daughter, Patsy (Mike) Winkler of Delavan; six grandchildren, Jesse Nehmelman, Jeremiah Nehmelman, Michelle Noreuil, Janina Lombardo, Jamie Eidenmiller, and Jody Stewart; one granddaughter-in-law, Rhonda Stewart of Delavan; 25 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Linda Eidenmiller; one grandson, Gerry Stewart; one brother, Charles Holmes; and one sister, Eleanor Shultz. 

Doreen worked at Caterpillar Inc. for several years and sold Avon for over 20 years. She and her husband organized the Delavan Farmer’s Market and was known for her homemade pies. 

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Delavan and its Altar and Rosary Society.  

One of Doreen’s fondest memories was playing women’s softball.  She enjoyed gardening, flower, and animals. 

A funeral mass will be at 11:00 am Monday, April 25, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Delavan.  Msgr. Gerald Ward will officiate.  Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:45 am Monday at the church.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Delavan.  Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements. 

The family would like to thank Transitions Hospice and her caregivers for their  love, support, and care given to Doreen.
