James G. Norris age 83, of Brewster, Ohio passed away suddenly April 15, 2022 at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday April 30th from 1-3 and the Holmesville Melvin McClure American Legion Post 551.
James was born March 23, 1939 in Coshocton, Ohio and was the son of George and Myrtle (Stewart) Norris.
James was a Veteran of the US Army 75th Artillery, his tank a M60A3 was affectionately named The Butcher.  He enjoyed his career of truck driving, retiring from Hargett Trucking of North Carolina in 2004.  He lived in North Carolina for 25 years.  James enjoyed living in the south, working on cars, fishing, tinkering with small engines, spending time with family and in his younger years he enjoyed drawing and racing on local tracks.
Surviving are 4 children, Lance (Anna) Norris of Beach City, Michael (Melissa) Norris of Dover, Michele Norris of Charlotte, NC and Dawn Norris of Brewster; 9 grandchildren, Shelby, Hunter, Courtney, Gavin, Adriana, Britney, Brian, Brandon and Steven; 5 great grandchildren, Castiel, Kenna, Amanda, Aiden, and James; and lifelong friends John Anderson, Ed & Anita Hargett and Keith Richmond.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Harold (Lefty) and Don and sister Dorothy.
