Clinton Clifford Vititoe, Jr. Obituary

Retired Master Sgt. Clinton C. Vititoe Jr. (Sumter, SC), at the young-spirited age of 81, escaped this moral realm on April 19, 2022, to avoid the publicized campaigning for our next presidential election. He was an aggravating [but nurturing] husband, noble father, caring grandfather, and whimsical uncle. After 38 painless and blissful years of marriage to Muriel Ann Oak Vititoe, he leaves behind Dawn Marie Vititoe, daughter and bustling entrepreneur of whom is a long-time fiancé to Alessandro Piscitelli (Tannersville, PA), David Vititoe, perspicacious son and husband to Yvonne Michelle Montoya Vititoe (Denver, CO), Clinton C. Vititoe III, ravishing son and husband to Samantha Leigh Collins Vititoe (Myrtle Beach, SC), five sublime grandchildren, and two dazzling and cherished brothers.

Born in the Thundering Herd territory of WV, on October 17, 1940, he was the son of the late Dea. Clinton Clifford Vititoe Sr. and Artie Lillian Rogers Vititoe, of Milton, WV. He was the fourth [and favorite] of seven children, leaving behind two brothers, Herman Michael Vititoe, racy husband of Gaylen Jean Vititoe (Little River, SC), and Larry Dale Vititoe, sensuous husband of Judy Coster Vititoe (Longs, SC).

He served in the United States Air Force for [a short] 31 years, retiring in 1991 upon his return from vacation in lustrous Desert Storm. During his decorated military career, he served overseas in Thailand, Germany, England, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates. Once he retired, his passion for travel was exhausted.

When he wasn’t serving as a beacon of landscape design within his community, he was daydreaming about fishing and codifying ridiculous lures to catch the uncatchable. The unfulfilled fishing dynasty shall continue with those he left behind. Though he never brought home any fish, he made it known his uncatchable catch was his wife of 38, soon-to-be 39, beautiful and laborious years.

His memorial will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022, at Bullock Funeral Home in Sumter, SC. Viewing will begin at 11:00am, funeral service will commence at 12:00pm within the on-site chapel, immediately followed by the committal service at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Sumter, SC. The family welcomes all friends and guests, as well as scratch-off cards and lottery tickets, which were both a favorite hobby of his.
