John Robert Arneson

<p>&nbsp;</p> <p>John Robert [Bob] Arneson, Age 98, Died April 18, 2022. Preceded in death by parents John and Petra, Wife Maxine, and Son David L. John/Bob enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps in December 1942. He was a Decorated Combat Veteran serving in WWII on islands in the South and Central Pacific and in Korea. He is survived by his Grandaughter Malia Weinhagen, Great-Grandchildren Shelby, Duncan, Agatha, and Birgit Weinhagen, Sister Jeanette Buck, Niece Kirsten Buck May, Nephew Arne Buck, Cousin Gunnar Holt, and extended family in Norway. He was a Life Time Member of V.F.W. Post 555, the American Legion Post 435, the St. Paul Norske Torske Klubben, and a member of the Zurah Shrine temple, Mpls. He was a Founding Member of the Minneapolis South High School Foundation. He retired with 34 years of service in both Northwestern Bell and AT&amp;T in 1980 as a National Account Manager. He was very proud of his Norwegian Heritage and visited Norway many times. He graduated from Mpls. South High School in 1941 and received a BA Degree from the U of M.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, the family prefers Memorials to Mindekirken, the Norwegian Lutheran Memorial Church, and the Shriner Children&#39;s Hospital, Twin Cities.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
