Grant M. Baker, 63, of Carbondale died Monday April 18th at the Wayne Memorial Hospital. His wife, the former Denise L. Arthur, died in 2011.

Born in Carbondale, he was the son of the late Robert John and Elizabeth Trotter Baker. Grant attended Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale and the First Presbyterian Church, Carbondale. Prior to his retirement he worked for Globe Securities as a guard stationed at the General Dynamics Plant in Eynon. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Surviving are two sons: Grant Baker, Jr. and companion Laura LaRusso, Peckville; Shawn Baker, Carbondale; a daughter: Lindsey Baker and companion Charles Williams, Carbondale; a sister: Beth Johnson and boyfriend Daniel Ritzco, Jessup; two brothers: Terrance Baker and wife Evelyn; and Robert Baker and wife Shirley, all of Carbondale; 7 grandchildren: John; Grant III; Robyn; Mackenzie; Haven; Jamie Lynn; and Harley; and several nieces and nephews .

He was preceded in death by two brothers: James and Frank.

The funeral will be held Friday April 22nd with services at 3 pm in the Brennan and Brennan Funeral Home, Inc. 55 Lincoln Ave., Carbondale.  Friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 pm at the funeral home.
