<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>&nbsp; Gaither Ray Stikeleather, age 83, of Taylorsville, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at his home.</strong></p> <p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Gaither was born April 23, 1938 in Alexander County, the son of the late Mack McKinley Stikeleather and Vitus Blankenship Stikeleather.</strong></p> <p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; He retired from Gulf State with over 30 years of service. He was a member of Berea Baptist church, where he sang in the choir. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends, especially at Tri-Mart. He also enjoyed watching football, car racing and eating meatloaf.</strong></p> <p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Including his parents, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Phyllis Childers Stikeleather; two sisters, Nella Mae Collins, Ruby Lee Burnham; three brothers, Jack Stikeleather, James Leroy Stikeleather, Gene Wade Stikeleather.</strong></p> <p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Those left to cherish and honor his memory include: his sons, Gary Goodman and fianc&eacute;, Angel Hunt, Jeff Goodman, Steven Goodman and wife, Melissa; his sister, Brenda Kay Stikeleather; beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; special friend, Walter Hines; special care-giver, niece Lisa Little.</strong></p> <p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The funeral service will be held at Noon, Friday, April 22, 2022 at Berea Baptist Church. Pastor Sheridan Stanton will officiate.             Gaither Ray Stikeleather, age 83, of Taylorsville, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at his home.
