<p>George Everette &ldquo;Big daddy&rdquo; Barnes, 73, of Asheville, NC passed away Monday, April 18, 2022.</p> <p>&nbsp;George was born February 13, 1949, to the late Homer and Helen Barnes in Madison County, NC. Mr. Barnes is also preceded in death by his daughters; Denise, Sharon, Melodie and son; Keith, sisters: Mary, Barbara, and Shirley, brother; Howard.</p> <p>George resided in Madison County NC for many years and later relocated to Buncombe County NC. George was a proud business owner and a devout member of Happy Valley Baptist Church and saved by God&rsquo;s grace in 2004. &nbsp;George never met a stranger wherever he went.</p> <p>George survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Wanda Rice Barnes; daughters; Pam, Kathy and, Gail sons; Danny and, Randy Angel; sisters: Betty, Sandra, and Kathy his brothers: Charles and, Willard; grandsons; Steven Early, Kevin Early, Cody Whitted and Heath Whitted, his granddaughters; Tiffany Dalton, Kristen Willis, Maranda Penley, Kristina Whitted, Heather Whitted, and Tiffany Barnes along with 31 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews he adored and loved very much.</p> <p>A Visitation will be held Friday April 22, 2022, at 1:00 PM at the Happy Valley Baptist Church, service following at 2:00PM with Pastor Perry Burke and Terry Burke officiating.</p>

George Everette “Big daddy” Barnes, 73, of Asheville, NC passed away Monday, April 18, 2022.

 George was born February 13, 1949, to the late Homer and Helen Barnes in Madison County, NC. Mr. Barnes is also preceded in death by his daughters; Denise, Sharon, Melodie and son; Keith, sisters: Mary, Barbara, and Shirley, brother; Howard.

George resided in Madison County NC for many years and later relocated to Buncombe County NC. George was a proud business owner and a devout member of Happy Valley Baptist Church and saved by God’s grace in 2004.  George never met a stranger wherever he went.

George survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Wanda Rice Barnes; daughters; Pam, Kathy and, Gail sons; Danny and, Randy Angel; sisters: Betty, Sandra, and Kathy his brothers: Charles and, Willard; grandsons; Steven Early, Kevin Early, Cody Whitted and Heath Whitted, his granddaughters; Tiffany Dalton, Kristen Willis, Maranda Penley, Kristina Whitted, Heather Whitted, and Tiffany Barnes along with 31 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews he adored and loved very much.

A Visitation will be held Friday April 22, 2022, at 1:00 PM at the Happy Valley Baptist Church, service following at 2:00PM with Pastor Perry Burke and Terry Burke officiating.
