<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Carolyn Jean Lyda</strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Spartanburg, SC:&nbsp; Carolyn Jean Lyda, 73 of Spartanburg, SC, went home to be with the Lord on April 19, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 53 years Dan Lyda.</strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>In addition to her husband she is also survived by two sons, Wayne Lyda (Tricia) and Todd Lyda (Brandy); four grandchildren, Taylor (Rathanak), Alston (Savannah), Thad and Lydia Grace; and two great grandchildren Mia and Harper, all of whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents Horace and Louise Taylor; and her sister Barbara Weathers.</strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Jean was retired from the Sunshine House after 40 years. She had a love for children that could never be denied. She was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church for nearly 50 years where she served as Sunday School teacher and custodian. She loved spending time in the mountains, at the beach, and finding new restaurants with her husband Dan. We were blessed to have her in our lives, and will treasure her memory forever.</strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>A special thanks to all the staff and nurses who took time to care for her during her battle with cancer.</strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Graveside service will be 11:00am at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Thursday, April 21, 2022 officiated by Rev. Bob Buhl.</strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Memorial made be made in her memory to St. Jude&rsquo;s Children&rsquo;s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105</strong></span></span></p>

I worked with Jean and helped rear her two sons at the child care center oh so many years ago. Jean was always so willing to go the extra mile and do whatever it took to see that the children were well loved and cared for. . Im do sorry for your loss.
