Mary T. Kozlosky Obituary

Mary T. Kozlosky, 92, of Shenandoah, passed away on Monday, April 18th, 2022, at the Shenandoah Senior Living Community.

Born in Shenandoah on August 23rd, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Jenkins) Roland.

She was a 1948 Annunciation BVM High School graduate.  Mary worked in the local garment industry for many years as a seamstress for Connie Fashions and was a member of the ILGWU.  She was a devoted Catholic woman having been a parishioner of Divine Mercy Parish, formerly the Annunciation BVM Church in Shenandoah.  She was very active in many church activities including RENEW Annunciation, pierogie making at summer bazaars, and belonged to both the Annunciation and St. Casimir’s Church Choirs.  Besides her singing, she also enjoyed playing the piano.  An excellent cook and baker, her family would teasingly call her “Chuckwagon Mary” because she would always seem to provide an endless amount of food for every family gathering.  Mary was a member of the A.O.H. and was also known for her love of the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.

She was preceded by her husband, Leonard Kozlosky, and her daughter, Mary Ellen Sacco both in 2005.  Also preceding were 3 brothers, Walter Roland Jr, John Roland, and infant brother, James Roland, along with a sister, Kate Gormley.

Mary leaves behind a son, Leonard Kozlosky with his wife Dolores – Shenandoah, a daughter, Catherine R. Linkchorst (late husband Thomas) – Allentown, 2 brothers, Michael Roland with his wife Patricia – York, Pa and Patrick Roland with his wife Helene – New Hope, Pa, 3 sisters, Margaret Ambrose (late husband Jack) – Lawrenceville, GA, Cecelia Donlan and husband Joseph – Media, Pa, and Sally Quinlan and husband Wallace – Philadelphia, Pa.  7 grandchildren, Shawn, Kate, Leonard III, Jessica, Shannon, Jennifer and Nicole, 9 great-grandchildren, Brittany, Alexander, Kale, Kamryn, Alex, Dylan Grace, Benjamin, Celia and Harrison.  Nieces and nephews also survive.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 25th at 10:30am in Divine Mercy Parish, 218 W. Cherry St, Shenandoah and will be officiated by Msgr. Ronald Bocian.  A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday morning from 8 to 10am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah.  Burial will follow Mass in the Annunciation BVM Parish Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
