Wilda Earline (Johnson) Cheadle, 87, beloved wife, mother, sister and friend left this world to be with her heavenly Father on April 19, 2022. She was born in 1935 to Ernest and Audree (Hamilton) Johnson in Kinder, Louisiana. Wilda is survived by her husband of 55 years Columbus (Jr.); two daughters, Earline Arnott and Barbi Cheadle; two sons, Kenneth Wilson and Tim Cheadle; four grandchildren, Sasha (Josh) Lee, Chad (Bridget) Wilson, Adrianja (Noah) Albrecht, and Caleb Cheadle; four great-grandchildren Kylin, Parker, and Avery Lee and Bristol Wilson; two sisters, Annie Vie Reid and Audree Faye Johnson-Burks and two brothers, Ernest LaVelle Johnson and Lanis Johnson; 17 nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Eurtis Johnson and Wallace “Cotton” Johnson; and two grandsons, Jason Wilson and Kyle Wilson. Wilda was a lifelong Apostolic Pentecostal who was active in her faith as a prayer warrior and Sunday school teacher. She loved to crochet and collect antique crochet patterns. Her other pastimes included knitting, quilting and sewing. Wilda was a believer in the “old-timey” hymns and Gospel, especially songs featuring the fiddle. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at the Cross Church, 1122 Market St. in Parkersburg at 2:00 P.M. with a visitation from 12-2. A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 25, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at the Oakland Cemetery in Stockport. A visitation will be held on Sat, April 23, 2022 from 5-7 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to M&M Emergency Squad.
