Mr. Archie B. James, 77, of Clarksburg, West Virginia (formerly Elmsford, NY) departed this life to be with the Lord on Monday, April 11, 2022, at Bridgeport Health Care Center, Bridgeport, West Virginia. Archie was born April 1, 1945, in Vance, South Carolina. Archie was the son of the late Bozzie James and Carleatha James.

Archie worked in maintenance for Hudson House Tenants Corp in Ardsley, New York, and was loved by all the staff and residents. He enjoyed watching baseball, fishing, playing the lottery, and traveling with family.

Archie is survived by his beloved son, Dorian A, James, and his wife Sherri James of Clarksburg, West Virginia, granddaughter Jasmine Dobbs and finance  Anthony Harper, Norristown, PA., great-grandchildren Zaylan and Nova Harper, Norristown, PA., also survived by his beloved daughter, Katina Bishop, granddaughters Dyanarra Johnson, Jakaylah Bryant, and grandson Desmond Bishop all of Tuscaloosa, AL., and grandson Michael Bishop, Poughkeepsie, NY; Siblings: Flory (Pearl) Kennedy and husband Everett, Goose Creek, SC., Patricia (Vern) Frost and husband Charles, Yuma, AZ., Wallace (BJ) James, Yonkers, NY., Beatrice White and husband James, Vance, SC., brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Walter Montgomery and wife Edna, Bronx, NY., Marie Strand and husband Ronald, Tuckahoe, NY., Ella Jamison and husband Fred, Vance, SC., Charles Montgomery and wife Jackie, Atlanta, GA., Linda Gibbs and Ronald, Charlotte, NC., Silvia Montgomery, New York, NY., Valles Montgomery, Nanuet, NY., Yvonne,Montgomery, Nanuet, NY., Josephine Rivers, Orangeburg, SC., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends,

In addition to his parents, Archie was preceded in death by ex-wife and lifetime friend Mamie Lee James, Clarksburg, West Virginia, and sister, Lou Ella (Stella) James. 

Davis Funeral Home is handling the local arrangements and transporting Mr. James for the family to South Carolina.

Friends will be received at the Eutawville Community Funeral, 440 Porcher Ave., Eutawville, South Carolina. Please adhere to all COVID-19 precautions and guidelines when visiting the family and funeral home. Masks are required at all times.
