George H. Glenn Obituary

George H. Glenn, 73, of Johnstown, Ohio passed away Sun, April 17, 2022 at the OSU Medical Center in Columbus after a short illness.  He was born March 4th, 1949 to the late Delmar Glenn and Mabel McCormick Glenn of McConnelsville, Ohio.  Following graduation from Morgan High School in 1967, George proudly enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served 3 years, including 1 in Vietnam.  After the Army, he chose to continue his education, earning an Associate Degree in Computer Programming and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.  George finished his career at United Healthcare after working 30 plus years as a Systems Analyst.  More than anything, he cherished spending time with his family and 4 grandchildren.  Other hobbies included reading, OSU football and basketball, attending classic car shows, working outdoors on his property and a good cup of Starbucks coffee.  George also enjoyed attending Johnstown Independent Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joy (Smith) Glenn; son, Jason Glenn; daughter, Angela (Scott) Tremayne; 4 grandchildren, Avery, Josephine, Paxton, Holden; sister, Barbara Glenn; and many nieces and nephews.  Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers Dale Glenn and Marcus Glenn and sisters Vivian Glenn and Katherine Bott.  Calling hours will be held Thursday, April 21 from 5pm to 7pm at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville.  The funeral service will take place at the same location on Friday, April 22 at 11am, with added visitation 1 hour prior to the service.
