Richard “Dick” Bass, age 70 of Stratford, IA, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, IA. Below is a poem he wanted those left behind to read in his memory. There will be no services. Foster Funeral & Cremation Center is entrusted with caring for Dick and his family. <br><br>When it comes the day I die,<br>Don’t shed no tears from your eye. <br>I wish happiness for those I know,<br>Not discontent and feelings of woe.<br>If I was to touch one person you see,<br>That was enough satisfaction for me.<br>So, remember only good times, not the bad,<br>And always remember the fun we had.<br>Most of you put a smile on my face,<br>And very few of you got on my case.<br>So please don’t forget me, as I’ll never forget you,<br>Because there’s nothing like friends, especially as true as you.<br><br>-Richard Bass 1951-2022
