It is with great sadness that the daughters of Maria de Fretis Pimentel Armas announce her passing at the age of 92 on April 12th 2022 at the Shuswap Hospital in Salmon Arm. 

Maria was born on the Flores Island of the Azores on October 3rd 1929. Maria came to Canada with her young daughters to join her husband Fernando Armas in 1958, 1996 Fernando passed away in Sicamous.

Maria was the only daughter amidst 6 brothers, Antonio Pimentel is the only surviving brother living in California. Maria is survived by her daughters Maria Armas and Teresa Armas-Hadcock, her granddaughters Jennifer Creighton (John) and Christina Legault (Anthony), her great grandchildren Logan Legault and Mira Creighton and many nieces and nephews here in Canada, USA and in Portugal.

A special thanks to the caring staff at the Eagle Valley Manor in Sicamous where she resided, also a thank you to the staff at the Shuswap Hospital that made her last days comfortable.
