Karen Sue Moreno Obituary

Karen Sue Moreno passed away peacefully on April 9,2022. She was born on May 8, 1943 to Ed and Wanda Sanders. She was raised in Lubbock, Texas. Throughout her life she lived in Texas, Arizona, and California. On September 17, 1993 she married the love of her life, John Raymond Moreno. She worked as a restaurant owner, in accounting, as a beautician, a bat conservationist, and wildlife rehabilitator. Karen was an animal lover and had many animals throughout her life. Dogs, cats, bats, rats, birds, and rabbits, these were her babies. She could not stand to see an animal in pain. She loved art and music. Her favorite music styles were jazz and contemporary. She loved her family and friends dearly. She enjoyed keeping busy by spending time with her friends and attending events. Karen had a wonderful sense of humor. She always had a smile and a twinkle in her eye. She always gave people a chance. She was a great cook and was a vegetarian for many years. She had a great love for nature and the environment. Karen was a very kind and caring person. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her. Karen is survived by her children Jon Moreno, Alesia Phillips, Jenny Moreno, and Mike Moreno; granddaughters Naya and Nassia Moreno. She is preceded in death by her husband John Moreno. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April20th at 11:00am at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga Street in Santa Cruz. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Native Animal Rescue,1855 17th Ave, Santa Cruz, CA 95062.
