Glenn David Lacey Obituary

Glenn David Lacey

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Glenn David Lacey on April 13, 2022 following a lengthy illness.

He was born on December 20, 1943 in Middlebury, VT to Roger E. and Emma (Cowles) Lacey.  He graduated from Burlington High School in 1961 and joined the family carpet and flooring business, Roger E. Lacey & Sons in South Burlington. Dad, Mom, Gary and Glenn owned and operated the business for over 50 years until retirement.

He married Alea Nyquist on November 21, 1964 and together they raised 3 sons; Shawn, Scott and Shane.

Glenn proudly served in the VT Army National Guard.  He found joy in coaching his sons in summer youth baseball.  Glenn had many fond memories of camping trips with neighbors and friends, and fishing with family and guests aboard III Suns. He also enjoyed gardening and stamp collecting.

Left to cherish Glenn’s memory are his wife, Alea; sons Shawn, Scott and Shane;  grandchildren Callandra, Chatham, Zayne and Kierra; and the many friends he worked with in the flooring community.

He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Gary Lacey.

A special thanks to UVM Health Network Home Health and Hospice for the nurses and therapists that made Glenn’s care at home possible.

We are especially thankful for the assistance of the Williston Fire Department.

As per Glenn’s wishes there will be no visitation or services.
