Donald Riefner Obituary


Donald Riefner of Mt. Lebanon, PA passed peacefully in his home on April 14,2022 at the age of 92. He was born to Harry and Marie Riefner on July 25,1929 in Baltimore, MD. 
He is survived by his wife Ina, sons Donald Jr. (Debra), Robert (Marian), Kurt, and William (Laura), nine grandchildren Michael, David, Nicholas, Ian, Louann, Carl, Joseph, Ashley and Lindsay; and brother Richard. He is preceded in death by wife Dorothy, daughter Karen, brothers Harry and Warren, sister Elizabeth. 
Don was a U.S. Army veteran. In 1954, he married the late Dorothy Calder and fathered five children. He attended University of Baltimore and graduated with a B.S. degree in Business Management. He settled in the Pittsburgh area and retired from Westinghouse Electric Company in 1989 after thirty years of service. 
Don enjoyed an active retirement. He built his dream “mountain chalet” in Deep Creek, Maryland and became involved with many activities, including amateur photographer and avid biker. Following the death of wife Dorothy, Don met Ina Block, with whom he spent twenty-eight happy years. Don and Ina were married in April,2016. 
Don’s remains were donated to the Humanity Gift Registry. Private memorial arrangements will be held. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Anthony M. Musmanno Funeral Home, Inc.
