Jacqueline "Jackie" Pankey Obituary

With her loved ones by her side, Jackie Sue gained her angel wings on April 12, 2022 at SIH Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. Jacqueline Sue was born on May 10, 1952 to the late Jack "Pop" & Hazel "Granny" (Rodgers) Harris, who both proceeded her in death, in Harrisburg IL . Her childhood & youth was spent in Johnson Co, where she graduated from Vienna High School. In 1970 she married Phillip Scott and that marriage blessed her with her 3 boys, Mike, Andy & Justin. Most people are lucky to find their one true love. Jackie got to experience that kind of feeling twice. She spent 10 years with Carl "Hud" Jackson and In 1996 she married the the keeper of her stars, Samuel "Sambo" Pankey, both of whom proceeded her in death. Jackie loved to travel. Especially loved those girl trips with her mom Hazel, Sister Patty & Aunt Trecie. She was happiest spending time with her munchkins, Liam & Libby, at the river on Saline Landing, hitting the slots with Sam or watching the weekend races. Jackie worked for the Nationwide Glove Factory, but her true calling was the 20 years she devoted to managing Jackson Hewitt Tax Service in Harrisburg. She loved her job & her clients even more. Jackie Sue will forever be missed by her family & loved ones. Although she's gone, she wont be forgotten by her boys Mike Scott of Reynoldsburg, Andy (Susan) Scott of Eldorado & Justin Scott of Eldorado, adopted son Chad Pankey of St Louis, Sister Patty (Rick) Romain of Paducah KY, Grandchildren Cole, Justina, Gus & Titan Scott of Eldorado, Carlyn, Preston & Gage Scott of Galatia, Catey (Nathan) Rheude of Stonefort, Jennifer (Dakota) Nutter of Ozark , Great Grandchildren Liam & Liberty Followell of Eldorado, Emma Anderson, Allie, Raelynn & Salor Rheude of Stonefort & Bryer Nutter of Ozark. Jackie Sue is being greeted in heaven by her parents Jack & Hazel, brother Rick Harris, Hud Jackson, Sam Pankey and great grandson Waylon Nutter. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 14th, 2022 at 1:00pm in the First Pentecostal Church in Ozark, IL. Lunch will follow the service.
