Ms. Mary Ellen Berry was born on September 15, 1943 to Lester Sr. and Ruth Lee Berry. She was the third of seven children. She confessed Christ at an early age while a member at Parks Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Ms. Mary was educated in the Jefferson County School System and was a member of the 1962 graduating class of Westfield High School. A passionate collector of books, she furthered her education at Booker T. Washingotn Business College. Later in life she accomplished her ultimate goal and graduated from The University of Alabama at Birmingham with a degree in Business Administration. She is preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her children, Freddie (LaTishia) Berry of Stockton, CA and Cecelia Hall of Birmingham, AL; siblings, Alethia Thompson of Columbus, OH, Solomon (Phyllis) Berry of Columbus, OH, Lester (Letha) Berry of Birmingham, AL, Rudy (Carolyn) Berry of Ft. Washington, MD, Micros (Delois) Berry of Carmel, IN, Minerva Boston of Birmingham, AL; four beautiful grandchildren, Asia Berry, Christopher Hemingway, Jr., Myles Hall and Micah Berry; one great grandson, Jayden Berry; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
